Whenever an imporant matter is to be undertaken in the monastery the abbot should call the entire community together and should set for the agenda. (RB. 3: 1)
Traditionally, this place was used just as St. Benedict indicated and it is called the Chapter Room. It was here were chapters from the Rule of St. Benedict were read.
Our Chapter Room is a small room, filled with symbolism. It has sculptures of St. Benedict and his sister, St. Scholatica who contemplate the mystery of the redeeming love of God found nailed on the Cross.
Not only are community meetings held in the Chapter Room, but it is also used as a place of prayer where the offices of Vigilias and Midday Prayer are celebrated.
